Brief: Network operations control desk for 8 operators plus 1 supervisor with visual access to a video display wall (2 x 4 50” rear projection cubes) plus 2 clusters of 3 desks, 4 ‘spin round’ desks for non operational PC’s and storage cupboards. This is a very high profile control room that was to be accommodated in a relatively narrow space with 2 structural columns within that space. Each operator has 2 TFT screens. All other hardware was to be accommodated behind the video wall with direct access from the control room. An access door was also required to reach the rear of the video wall cubes.
		‘Modern’ metallic surfaces were chosen for the video wall and desk structure with ‘Forbo’ tops edged with ‘Corian’ - having a hardwood inlay wrist rest at each operator position. Work was to be completed to very tight schedules – with all ‘noisy work’ done outside the normal working day. All this was achieved.
