This was followed
by a very detailed ergonomic/work flow study to establish
practicality of the proposal - including a complete replica
of the control room layout in cardboard with all staff on
hand to simulate live scenarios.
The
conclusion was that the shift supervisor needed close eye
contact with at least 4 members of the team in a crises situation
and that only 7 operators required visual contact with the
display wall and CCTV monitors (but mainly the supervisor).
As
a result the configuration was changed as shown and fully
tested again.
Finally
it was decided that only 2 workstations were required to be
height adjustable (saving a large cost) and the remaining
workstations were fitted with fully adjustable monitor arms. |
